The club was founded in 1948 to foster greater friendship between keen sailors to encourage those whose interests lie primarily in cruising and maintaining thier sailing craft and to protect their interests.
Each year we attempt to navigate the entire broads network, this is usually accomplished by a sailing programme consisting of ten events some lasting a week others being weekends.
Members come from far and wide many traveling great distances to be with us in the delightful surroundings of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads.
We have no base and members yachts are moored on both the Northern and Southern rivers.
Yare Valley Sailing Club officers are closely monitoring the current situation regarding the Corona virus (COVID 19) pandemic in the UK to understand how this affects the NHS, our members, and our club.
This is an incredibly fast changing situation and we want to reassure you that the officers will be regularly reassessing the guidance provided by the NHS and Government.
A Unique Adventure
We are unique by being the only sailing group specifically set up with the main objective of cruising in company on the beautiful Norfolk and Suffolk Broads.
Our club welcomes people of all ages and abilities and all types of sailing craft from Classic Broads cruisers to more modern designs and also home builds!
The wealth of knowledge within the club will ensure those looking to improve their sailing or maintenance skills are catered for.
Advice is freely offered and assistance navigating some of the more challenging parts of the Broads network is available if you join our club and attend one our events and you will be fully supported.
Don't have a yacht but like the idea of Cruising in Company
